Description
I hope this statue is as much an inspiration to you as it is to me, a reminder of the great Book of Mormon hero Captain Moroni. Of him Mormon said: "If all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men" (Alma 48:17)
Inspired by renouned artist Arnold Friberg's classic painting this statue depicts Captain Moroni raising the title of libery to remind his people of what they were fighting for: "In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wieves, and our children." Captain Moroni encoaurged the people to "enter into a covenant that they will maintain their rights, and their religions, that the Lord God may bless them" (Alma 46:20). May the Lord bless you as you strive to follow Moroni's admonition and example.
